Felix P. Stahl, age 82, of O'Fallon, Ill., born November 13, 1928 in Piggott, Ark., the oldest of seven children, passed away Friday evening, December 10, 2010.
Felix enlisted in the US military July 22, 1946 serving in the Army until 1949, then serving in the Air Force until Dec. 22, 1952 attaining the rank of Technical Sergeant. He was a B-29 crew chief, served in the Panama Canal Zone, and also was trained in topography and mapping.
After his military service, the family relocated to Belleville, where Felix became President of Midstates Life Ins. Co, Belleville. He was a life-long member of the Church of Christ, and was a faithful member of Collinsville Church of Christ, in Troy. He was an avid golfer, shooting a hole-in-one on the number three, 155-yard par 3 at Mid Rivers Golf Links on May 7, 1994. He was a former Rotarian, serving as president of Rotary Club of Belleville in 1991-1992. A longtime member of Belleville Area Chamber of Commerce, he was board member 1977-1983 and chairman of the board 1981-1982. He served as president of East Side Life Underwriters Association 1979-1980.
He was preceded in death by his parents Eldon and Opal, nee Neely, Stahl, daughter-in-law Teresa A. Stahl, granddaughter Alison Nicole Stahl, and three brothers.
Mr. Stahl is survived by his wife, Jean, nee Smith, Stahl, of O'Fallon, whom he married December 24, 1950 in Piggott, Ark., children Tom Stahl of Cahokia, Polly (Steve) Stover of O'Fallon, and Jeffrey (Loretta) Stahl of Belleville. Also surviving are grandchildren Anthony Stahl, Melissa Quigley, Shelley Meyers, Jenny Fox, Mindy Fox, Cassie Fox, Philip Fox, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers and one sister.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 – 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon, Ill. and from 10 – 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Collinsville Church of Christ, Troy.
Funeral: 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Collinsville Church of Christ, Troy, Ill. with Mr. Terry Mabery officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow the funeral service, with interment to follow at O'Fallon City Cemetery.
