Flor Maria Garcia, born August 20, 1934 in Borbur, Colombia, passed away July 25, 2024 at the age of 89.

Flor Maria attended school in Colombia, South America and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kean College in Union, N.J. She was a faithful Catholic and attended church at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in Shiloh, Ill.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life Jorge, her sister Marina (Victor), and her parents Virgilio and Anna Lucia Garcia.

She is survived by her son Asdrubal (Elizabeth), stepson Jorge (Adriana), daughters Anita (Allen) and Lucia (Michael); friends whom she loved like daughters: Alicia, Nancy, Alice and Alice's daughter Parker; her grandchildren Lucas, Gabriel, Matthew, Patrick, Jeason, Sonia, David, Juan, Melanie, Jorge III, and Cody; great-grandchildren Sonia and Gael. Also surviving are siblings Josué (Cecilia), Marco Antonio (Esperanza), Evel (Ana), and Mariela.

In life, Flor Maria was an active member of the Lions Club, Legion of Mary, and the Rosary Altar Society. She pursued careers in healthcare, education, and food services.

Flowers are welcome, as Flor Maria loved flowers; however, memorial donations, if desired, may be made to Caritas Family Solutions.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm, Monday, July 29, 2024 at St. Clare Catholic Church, 1411 Cross St., Shiloh. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2:00 pm, with Fr. Jim Deiters presiding. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh, Ill.
