Frances C. Zotz, nee Metzger, age 96, of rural Lebanon, born July 24, 1927 in O'Fallon Township, passed away June 22, 2024 in her home.

Frances was a homemaker and a member of O'Fallon United Church of Christ in O'Fallon. She was a member and Past President of the Women's Guild at the church. Frances enjoyed quilting and belonged to the Quilters. She also helped serve funeral luncheons for members of the church for years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Zotz, Sr., whom she married July 24, 1947; her parents George M. and Ida M. (nee Bernhardt) Metzger; brothers George J. Metzger and Udell (Ethel) Kimmle; sister Viola (John) Freed; and son-in-law Tom Melvin.

Frances is survived by son Edgar Zotz, Jr., daughters Diane Melvin of Greenville, Ill., and Jeanette Zotz of Macomb, Ill.; granddaughter Valerie (James) Klenke of Greenville; great-grandchildren Jacob Klenke of Paducah, Ky., and Sarah Klenke of Edwardsville, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation 4 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, with Rev. Dr. Martha Thierheimer officiating. Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
