Francine M. Wilson, nee Moine, age 88, resident of Cedarhurst of Shiloh, Ill., born November 20, 1926 in Saint Quentin, France, passed away Saturday morning, May 30, 2015.
Francine met her husband Roy during World War II while he was serving in the Army Air Corp as a B-26 pilot. They married and returned to his hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana, where they raised their daughters and lived until Hurricane Katrina forced them to seek a new home elsewhere. They came to O'Fallon, Illinois, to be near their daughter. Francine was a kind and cheerful friend, a sweet, loving, and considerate mom. She had belonged to a garden club while in New Orleans and appreciated beautiful flowers.
She was preceded in death by her dear husband of 57 years Roy O. Wilson, her sister Huguette (Jacques) nee Moine, Fontaine; and Jacqueline (Radu) nee Moine, Padeano.
Surviving are her daughters Diane (Mike Lafferty) Kimble of O'Fallon, and Karen (Tim) Wilson-Cauffman of Bryn Mawr, Penn., grandchildren Wendy Kimble of O'Fallon, Heather (Jeff) Kimble-Saunders of O'Fallon, and Nicholas Cauffman of Bryn Mawr, Penn., and one great grandson Branson Saunders.
Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Assoc., Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Hospice of S. Illinois, or to Cedarhurst of Shiloh Activity Fund.
Visitation: Friends may call from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W Washington St., O'Fallon, IL.
Funeral: 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at the funeral home, with Rev. James Deiters officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh, Illinois.
