Francis Ward Shewmaker "Frank" age 81 of O'Fallon, born July 27, 1942, in Rosiclare, Ill., passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, May 1, 2024, at his home with his family at his side.

Frank grew up as the only child of Beecher and Helen, nee Fritch, Shewmaker, a proud son of Morganfield, Kentucky, where he graduated from high school in 1960. He married Jackie Stonecipher on January 28, 1977, and his family grew quickly. Frank was a lifetime member of Labor Local 670, and a long-time employee of the City of O'Fallon Public Works Department, retiring in 2004 as the Foreman of the Water Department. Frank enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, spending Tuesday mornings with his friends at Cracker Barrel, but most of all, his greatest joys were spending time with family and quality time with his wife .

He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Janet Hanes.

Surviving are his beloved wife Jackie; their children Tammy (Lorin) Schehl, Robin Powell, Frank D. (Bobbie Jo) Shewmaker, Suzie (Tim) Berkel, and Michael (Amanda) Lee; grandchildren Dan (Brittney) Berkel, Tiffani (Dan McCoy) Berkel, Codee (Mary) Berkel and Scylyr (Whitney) Berkel, Mike (Jessica) Shewmaker, Stephanie Shewmaker, Rob (Samantha) Shewmaker, Billy Powell, Jessica Powell, AudraLee Hanes, Blythe Schehl, Micah Schehl, Quinn Schehl, Kaylynn (Brandon) Rose, Laura Lee, Lexi Lee, Ryder Lee; great-grandchildren Mackenzie Berkel, Mackayla Berkel, Addison Berkel, Parker Shewmaker, Peyton Shewmaker, Joseph Shewmaker, Charlotte Shewmaker, Addison Shewmaker, Amelia Shewmaker, Lily Berkel, Emma Berkel, Violet Berkel, Londyn Powell, Everett Schehl, Mason Berkel, Wren Berkel, Elijah Berkel, Jaxon Berkel, Leland McCoy, plus two more on the way.
