Malcolm "Fred" Frederick Bickell, age 82, born August 17, 1930 in Stoughton, Wisc., died Monday, December 31, 2012 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Fred began his military career serving in the Navy, and retired from the Air Force in 1973, after 24 years of service. He worked as a project planner in Personnel Management, and while stationed at Scott AFB, met and married his active-duty bride, Janice Mae Countryman, on January 7, 1960. Together, they made O'Fallon home and raised three children, Terry, Pam, and Lori. He also worked at O'Fallon's Keg, Crate and Barrel as a receiving clerk through the early 1980s.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents Henry Adelbart Bickell and Jessie Marie, nee Jenson, Bickell.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Janice M. Bickell, of O'Fallon; one son Terry (Cheri) Bickell of Swansea, two daughters Pamela Bickell of Shiloh, and Lori (Eugene) Burgess of O'Fallon; and his granddaughter Jennifer Van Der Leest.

A Graveside Committal Service, with military honors, will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.
