Gail Louise Derickson, nee Ackerman, age 82, of O'Fallon, Ill., born April 16, 1940 in Collinsville, Ill., passed away peacefully at Revela at O'Fallon on January 18, 2023.

Gail grew up in Collinsville, Ill., and married the love of her life, Woody, who she was married to for 62 years. Gail and Woody resided in O'Fallon most of their married life.

Gail started as an Executive Secretary at the 7 Up Company, and later helped Woody open his State Farm Agency in O'Fallon where she continued to work for many years. Gail was a faithful member at First United Methodist Church in O'Fallon. She was a member of the Women's Covenant Group and Fellowship Class. In addition to her devoted service to the church, Gail served the O'Fallon community as a mentor at Central School and a member of the Lioness Club. Gail and Woody were proud supporters of numerous activities at McKendree University, including the Bearcat Boosters and The Hett. Gail loved Kentucky Lake, shopping trips, traveling and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Derwood "Woody" Derickson and sister Lynn Granger.

Surviving are her two children, Todd (Lisa) Derickson of Wildwood, Mo., and Teri (Brian) Fleshren of Belleville, Ill.; grandchildren Erin Fleshren, Drew Derickson and Kristin Fleshren; sister Rae Price; as well as many nieces and nephews and other cherished family members.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations would be appreciated to The Hett at McKendree University or Hospice of Southern Illinois.

The family would like to extend the warmest of appreciation to the staff at Revela at O'Fallon Senior Living in O'Fallon, Ill. and Hospice of Southern Illinois for all of their unwavering support and care provided to Gail.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 22, 2023 Noon – 3 pm, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon, Ill., with the Funeral Service immediately following at 3 pm, with Pastor Phil Gardner officiating.
