Obituary

Geoffrey R. "Geoff" Schmidt, age 21, of Kewanee, Ill., died at 7:06 P.M. Friday, January 23, 2015 in the emergency room at OSF St Luke Hospital in Kewanee from injuries sustained in a tragic work-related accident at Great Dane Trailers in Kewanee, Ill.

Geoffrey was born July 17, 1993 in Belleville, Ill., the son of Geoff G. and Lucille A., nee Baker, Schmidt. He attended Whiteside Elementary School in Belleville and played Khoury League baseball. He moved to Kewanee at age 10 and graduated from Kewanee High School in 2012. He also attended Black Hawk East Jr. College in Kewanee. Geoff was employed as a second shift team leader at Great Dane Trailer Co. in Kewanee. He took extreme pride in being a dedicated and responsible worker.

As a devoted health and fitness enthusiast, Geoff enjoyed attending the Xtreme Power and Fitness gym on a regular basis. Geoff's most precious aspiration in life was to marry his beautiful high school sweetheart and soon start a family of his own. His kind and noble heart drove him to always genuinely reach out and help those around him. His kindred spirit and vivacious soul will be missed dearly but not forgotten by those whose lives he touched.
