George Anthony Kiefer, Jr., age 42, of Shiloh, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2005 at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo.
George was born October 26, 1962 in Belleville, Ill. to George Kiefer and Carol Lee (nee Schaeperkoetter) Kiefer. George was a hard worker, mostly employed as a truck driver for Reeb's Dairy. He had also worked in a furniture warehouse and operated a yard service business. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and trapping.
He married Lisa Ruby Estelle Riley June 19, 1987; she survives. He is also survived by his son Erin Kiefer; his daughter Doris Kiefer; his mother Carol Kiefer, of Shiloh, his father George Kiefer, of Shiloh; his sister Kay (Wally) Good of Belleville; his grandmother, Doris Schaeperkoetter of Fairview Heights; and his father and mother-in-law, Jack and Doris Riley of Belleville. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Alfred Schaeperkoetter, Sr., and special aunts Joyce Mohr and Viola Bernhardt and special uncle Everett Schaeperkoetter.
Visitation: 4:00 – 9:00 pm, Wednesday, September 21, 2005 and 9:00 – 11:00 am, Thursday, September 22, 2005 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Services: 11:00 am, Thursday, September 22, 2005 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Mark Burgdorf of Grace Church St. Louis officiating.
Memorials are requested to the family or a cancer fund.
Interment: Shiloh Valley Township Cemetery, Shiloh, Ill.
Immediately following the Graveside Service, a luncheon will be held at Klucker Hall in Shiloh. Friends and family are invited.
