George Wayne Storey, age 56, of Troy, Illinois, born June 4, 1952 in Granite City, passed away at his home Wednesday, August 20, 2008.
George grew up in Troy, graduating from Triad High School in 1970. After moving away for a few years, he returned and has resided in Troy for the past 20 years. He has been employed at Cerro Copper as a production worker for 24 years. George lived a full and exciting life, always with a sense of humor and great smile.
George lived his life knowing: Tomorrow may never come - so live hard, laugh loud and never look back with regrets.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arnold Alvy and Melba Fae, nee Howell, Storey.
He is survived by his five siblings, Nancy (Jerry) Hall of Granite City, Randall (Deb) Storey of Trenton, Leah Stilley of Breese, Gary (Pam) Storey of Freeburg, Mo; and DeeAnne (Tom) Byrne-Scott of Troy; his daughter Melissa Knight of Springfield, Ill; his close friend and caregiver Randi Marcordes of Breese; three grandchildren and former spouses Sharon Staggs of Granite City and Sharon Deppe of Edwardsville.
Memorial Donations in honor of George Storey are requested to Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Funeral: A Memorial Service will begin at 4:00 pm, Sunday, August 24, 2008 at Troy VFW Post 976, 123 West Market Street, Troy. A reception and gathering of friends and family will follow. In honor of George, please wear your favorite Harley t-shirt in tribute to him. At George's request, his body will be cremated.
