Obituary
Georgette R. Thompson, nee Guithues, age 94, formerly of O'Fallon, Ill., born May 8, 1920 in East St. Louis, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014.
Mrs. Thompson worked nearly 50 years for K-Mart Stores as a sales associate and buyer. She had been a resident of O'Fallon for more than 50 years before moving to St. Louis to be near her daughter. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband John P. Thompson, whom she married April 3, 1948 in East St. Louis, and who passed away July 13, 2011; her parents Henry and Clara, nee Becker, Guithues, and brothers Henry, Arthur, Gerald, Charles and Donald Guithues.
Surviving are her daughter Claire Douglass of St. Louis and son Patrick (Mary Sue) Thompson of Bartlett, Ill.
Also surviving are six grandchildren Jennifer, Lisa, Bryan, Sarah, Patrick, and Jordan; a great-granddaughter Emerson Claire and brother Robert Guithues.
Memorial donations are suggested to St Jude Shrine, 512 W Saratoga St, Baltimore, MD 21201-1896.
Visitation: Friends may call 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 7, 2014 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon.
Funeral: Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 7, 2014, at the church, with Msgr. William J. Hitpas presiding. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Fairview Heights, Ill.
