Obituary
Gladys "Sis" Doverspike, nee Johnston, age 78, of Belleville, Ill., born December 28, 1934 in Brooklyn, N.Y., passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013.
Ms. Doverspike retired in 1996 from the Base Exchange at Scott AFB. She also volunteered at the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows.
She was preceded in death by her father William J. Johnston and sister Doris Ann Metz.
Sis is survived by her children Jerry (Lore) Doverspike of New Baden and Pamela J. Doverspike of Belleville, and her mother Gladys, nee Struble, Schwietzer of Long Island, N.Y. Also surviving are grandchildren Charity (Frank Childs) Doverspike of Belleville, Stephanie Dee of New Baden, Cheyenne Doverspike of New Baden, and Hunter Doverspike of New Baden; three great-grandchildren Dylan, Kenna, and Conner; brother Eddie Struble of New York and sisters Anne Puckett of North Carolina, Florence Sandin of New York, Betty Hartman of New York, and Claire Fink of Long Island, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers and other gifts, memorials are requested to Heartland Hospice or to the family.
Memorial Visitation: Friends may call 4 – 7 p.m., Monday, April 29, 2013 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon, Ill.
