Gloria Mae Taylor, nee Hook, age 75, of O'Fallon Township, Illinois, passed away February 2, 2007 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. She lost her battle with Alzheimer's disease and cancer Friday morning, with her husband, the man she loved, by her side.

Gloria was born February 20, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri, to George and Hazel (nee Travous) Hook. She was a graduate of Soldan High School in St. Louis. She married James Edward Taylor on March 5, 1949. Gloria loved animals and was devoted to her husband and family as a homemaker and was a talented artist of pastel portraits. She was known as always having a youthful outlook on life, and will be missed by her many friends at the Outdoorsman in O'Fallon.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents, son James Robert Taylor in 2006, daughter Donna Lee Taylor-Weber in 1999, granddaughter Stacey Taylor and infant brother Robert Hook.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Taylor, of O'Fallon; daughter Linda Taylor-Sonsoucie of Belleville, brother Bill (Andrea) Crisel of Yorba Linda, CA; grandchildren, Zachary Johnson of Belleville and Casey (Todd) Voegtle of Belleville; two great-grandsons, Codey and Cole; and one great-granddaughter, Lisa.

In honor of Mrs. Taylor, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association or American Cancer Society and will be accepted at Wolfersberger Funeral Home.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 pm, Monday, February 5, 2007 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon.

Funeral Service: Funeral Service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home chapel, with Rev. Joel Catlin, Pastor, O'Fallon First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery, Belleville, IL
