Gloriana "Gloria" Robinson, nee Agostini, age 89, of O'Fallon, born December 3, 1929 in Spoleto, Italy to Mario and Onelia, nee Germani, Agostini, died Tuesday evening, April 16, 2019 at Swansea Nursing & Rehab Center, Swansea, Ill.

Gloria came to the United States as a young woman, seeking refuge from World War II.  She joined her sister Maria Felice Primaveri, whom was married to a United States military man, Elio Primaveri.  She often told the story of flying to the United States, and not knowing a word of English.  Once in the United States, Gloria learned to speak fluent English and Spanish, in addition to her native Italian.  Gloria became a US Citizen on April 16, 1962.  She later moved to California with her sister's family, and worked at Long Beach Community Hospital.  Here, she met the love of her life, Hubert "Robbie" Robinson, and they married within six months of meeting.  They bought a little home in Long Beach, California of which they were very proud.  In 1972, their only child, Onellia "Nella" Robinson was born.

Gloria spent most of her years in Long Beach, California, moving to O'Fallon, Illinois in 2015 to be with her daughter and her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, Nonna (Grandmother), and  Zia (Aunt).

She was preceded in death by her husband Hubert "Robbie" Robinson in 2001; her parents; her brother Franco Agostini; her sister Maria Felice Primaveri; nephews John Primaveri and Mario Agostini.

Surviving are her daughter Onellia "Nella" (Marcus) Dickerson of O'Fallon, Ill.; her much-loved grandsons Matthew Lee Dickerson and Lukas Robert Dickerson; her brother Leonello (Maria) Balzanetti and their sons Saverio Balzanetti, and Giorgio Balzanetti; nephew Louie (Mary) Primaveri and their daughters Jennifer Primaveri and Christina Meas; nephew Mario Primaveri and his children Elisa Primaveri, Eddie Primaveri and their mother Cindy Monroy; nephew Moreno Agostini and his daughter Francesca Agostini; niece Debbie Williamson and her daughter Theresa Primaveri.

Also surviving are dear friends and in-laws Lee (Mary Alice) Dickerson and Mary Ell, and her beloved poodle Violet.

The family will receive friends 9 – 11 am, Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon, Ill.

A Funeral Service will begin at 11 am, Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at All Souls Catholic Cemetery, Long Beach, Calif.
