Hazel Irene Nave, nee Turner, age 85, formerly of O'Fallon, Illinois passed away Friday morning, July 29, 2005 at Faith Countryside Care Center, Highland, Illinois.
Mrs. Nave was born March 22, 1920, in Newton, Illinois to Charles Victor and Sadie M. (nee Cummins) Turner. She married William Henry Nave on June 10, 1939 in Washington, Indiana. She was a homemaker and worked with her husband as a campground attendant with the Army Corps of Engineers at Carlyle Lake. Mrs. Nave was a Board Member of the Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House, Past President of St Clair County Home Extension, a Member of O'Fallon Senior Citizens Club, and First United Methodist Church of O'Fallon, and a former member of the Rebekah Assembly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Nave on July 29, 1995; her parents, a brother Robert Ivan Turner and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
She is survived by her sons, William E. (Judy) Nave of Anderson, Indiana and Robert V. (Gail) Nave of Hernando, Florida; daughter Sharon S. (Roger) Allen, of Montgomery, Alabama; 6 Grandchildren, Cynthia Seybert, Jeffrey Nave, Robyn McBride, Robert Nave, Jr., Scott Allen, Erin Allen; 11 great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a brother, Cebert Turner; three sisters, Sylvia Mae Luebbers, Carrie Brink and Vivian "Ann" (Dean) Sprehe, a sister-in-law, Dorothy Turner, and nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of O'Fallon or Heartland Hospice.
Visitation: 5:00 – 8:00 pm, Sunday, July 31, 2005 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W Washington @ Lincoln, with a walk-through at 6:30 pm by the Senior Citizens Club of O'Fallon.
Funeral Service: 10:00 am, Monday, August 1, 2005 at First United Methodist Church of O'Fallon with Rev. Paul Sellers officiating.
Interment: Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
