Obituary

Henry Harold Stone, Jr., nicknamed "Bubby," age 65, of O'Fallon, born January 8, 1952 in Monet, Ark., died January 17, 2017 at Memorial East Hospital, Shiloh, Illinois.

Mr. Stone was an itinerant minister and evangelist and preached at various Pentecostal churches throughout southern Illinois and Missouri. He was an accomplished guitarist and often sang gospel music at area churches. He was a kind and good-hearted husband and a generous father. His grandchildren will fondly remember him as a prankster and fun-loving grandfather. He had most recently worked as a custodian for the O'Fallon Township building until he retired in 2006 for health reasons.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henry H. Stone, Sr., and Fanny Lou, nee Cook, Stone; and his brother Scott Stone.

Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Jeanette, nee Boisseau, Stone of O'Fallon; son Timothy (Jennifer) Stone of O'Fallon; grandchildren McKayla and Bethany Stone; sisters Mary (Earl) Yon and Deana (Joe) Pheonix, all of Opdyke, Ill., and brother James Stone of East Prairie, Mo.

The family wishes for memorial donations, instead of flowers, to offset funeral expenses, payable to Wolfersberger Funeral Home.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm, Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Calvary Church, 613 S. Walnut St., O'Fallon.

Funeral: Services will begin at 1:30 pm, Saturday, at the church, with Pastor Chad Townsley officiating. Burial will immediately follow at O'Fallon City Cemetery, O'Fallon, Ill.
