Martha Ines "Iny" Foy, age 88, of O'Fallon, Ill., born September 20, 1923, passed away Thursday morning, May 24, 2012, surrounded by her family.

Ines was born and raised in O'Fallon, assuming ownership of Foy's Tavern, on State Street, from her parents. A local hotspot in its day, Foy's Tavern was known for its variety of candy and cold water. Ines was past president of O'Fallon VFW Auxiliary Post 805, and a member of Moose Lodge #4 in Caseyville. She was a loyal Cardinals' fan, always quick with scores and stats. She loved babies and kids, and was always willing to be helpful and generous. She collected coins, stamps and antiques, and was known amongst her family for her great cooking, especially the Easter lamb dish and the turkey dressing. Her kindness over the years has touched many people.

She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Nellie, nee Cunliffe, Foy; her brothers Albert and William; and her sister Alice "Peggy" Schloemann.

Surviving are her daughter, Pamela (companion Joe Baillargeon) Vollmer of Fairview Heights, Ill., her grandchildren, Cyndee (Daniel) Zimmerman of O'Fallon, Ill., Lisa Garcia of St. Charles, Mo., and Tim Garcia of Lebanon, Ill., great-grandson Danny Zimmerman, brother Jack (Cora) Foy; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to Visiting Nurse Association Hospice or American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon. The VFW Post 805 Auxiliary will conduct a walk-through at 6 pm. The Moose Lodge #4 will conduct a walk-through at 6:30 pm.

Funeral: 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at O'Fallon United Church of Christ with Rev. Dr. Martha Thierheimer, officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Shiloh, Ill.
