Age 88 of O'Fallon, passed away at Cedar Ridge Healthcare Center, Lebanon, Ill. She was born August 6, 1919 to Lawrence and Margaret (nee Dawson) Ardison of Collinsville, Ill. She attended Collinsville schools and later worked at the local sewing factory. She was married to Wilmer Mannz from October 9, 1937 until his death in 1967. Ione married Robert Gribler in O'Fallon on August 6, 1982 and deeply mourned his passing on July 24, 2005. She retired from PN Hirsch in 1984, was a member of the O'Fallon United Church of Christ and V.F.W. Post 805 Woman's Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and a grandson, Anthony Mannz. Mourning her passing are a daughter, Patricia (Richard) Goheen of Benton, Ark., and a son, Ronald (Sandra) Mannz of Redwood Falls, Minn. Her beloved grandchildren are Christopher (Suzanna) Goheen of Vienna, Va., Angela Marie Thennes of Benton, Ark., Michael (Jean) Mannz of Redwood Falls, Minn., Andrea (Andy) Marshall of Owatonna, Minn., and Robert "Jake" Goheen of Benton, Ark. Great-grandchildren include Anthony Natale, University of Central Arkansas; Jennifer Goheen, University of Illinois; Michael Goheen, Vienna, Va.; Bethany Thennes, Benton, Ark.; Jared and Riley Becker, Owatonna, Minn.; Calvin, Nichele, and Jarrett Mannz, Redwood Falls, Minn. Ione is also survived by three dear sisters, Catherine Simon of Alton, Ill., Hazel Fitzpatrick of Little Rock, Ark., and Faye Mondy of Lakeside, Calif.

Ione enjoyed pinochle, traveling, fishing, gardening, cooking, and visiting with her special neighbors. The family deeply appreciates the loving care given Ione by friends, family, personnel at Cedar Ridge, staff and members of O'Fallon United Church of Christ, and the excellent care team of Heartland Hospice.

Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 3, 2008 and from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2008 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2008 at the Wolfersberger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Martha Thierheimer officiating. Interment will be at O'Fallon City Cemetery.
