Ira M. Hughes, age 55, of Lebanon, Illinois, born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 16, 1955, died Monday afternoon on January 31, 2011.

Ira was raised in Lebanon, Illinois and was a 1973 graduate of Lebanon Community High School. He loved music and enjoyed playing in his band, Strap On Merkins. He was a construction worker and also enjoyed performing many tasks within the community.

He leaves to mourn his passing his Mother: Ora L. Hughes, Lebanon, Illinois;
Sisters: Rachel L. (Wayne) McClellan of Brandon, Florida;
Regina M. (Nathan) Ware of O'Fallon, Illinois;
and Audrey Y. Brooks of Lebanon, Illinois; his uncle Carl Brooks of Lebanon, Illinois; Aunt Dr. Ethel M. Johnson of Lebanon, Illinois; Nephews Timothy Ware and Thomas Ware both of Lebanon, Illinois, and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Memorial donations are suggested to the family.

Visitation: Friends may call from 9:00 - 10:00 am, Friday, February 4, 2011 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon, Illinois.

Funeral: A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, February 4, 2011 at the funeral home with Reverend Dr. W.J. Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at College Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, Illinois.
