Irene L. Klingenberg, age 96, of Shiloh, Ill., formerly of Syracuse, Nebraska, born January 2, 1916 to Otto and Mary, nee Schlueter, Rieckman, in Cass County, Nebraska, died June 30, 2012 in Swansea, Illinois.
Mrs. Klingenberg was a registered nurse. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and raising flowers.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Arlin Klingenberg, of Shiloh, Illinois, whom she married June 28, 1953, in Murdock, Nebraska; son, Dean (Loretta) Klingenberg of Amherst, Wisconsin; daughter, Diane (Jerald) Campbell of O'Fallon, Ill.; four grandchildren, Andrew Klingenberg, John (Chor) Campbell, Allison (David) Ziemann, Meredith Campbell; two great grandchildren: Anna Ziemann and Lily Ziemann; her sister-in-law, Iola
Rieckman; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sister and brothers, Bernice Smith, Donald Rieckman, Merle Rieckman, and Richard Rieckman.
Funeral Services were held in her hometown of Syracuse, Nebraska, at St. John's United Church of Christ. Memorial donations may be made to St. John's UCC of Syracuse, Nebraska or Community Memorial Hospital of Syracuse, Nebraska.
