Obituary

Jacqueline Denise Johnson, age 60, of O'Fallon, Ill., born November 28, 1964, in Sprott, Ala. to Anita J. Golden, died Friday, July 18, 2025, at home in Spring Hill, Fla. with her family by her side.

Jacqueline grew up in Sprott, Ala., where as a child, she had a love for track and was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide fan.

She attended East Perry High School (2 years) in Suttle, Ala. and later graduated from Alief Hastings High School in Houston, Texas. She later earned her Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from Troy University and her Master's Degree in Computer Resource and Information Management from Webster University.

She enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 26 and served 10 ½ years in transportation management and transitioned into civil service as a government contractor for the next 20 years.  Jacqueline earned an Air Force Commendation Medal, an Air Force Achievement Medal, an Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with three Oak Leaf Clusters, an Air Force Good Conduct Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, a National Defense Service Medal, a Humanitarian Service Medal, an Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbons, a Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon and the Air Force Training Ribbon.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Amaziah and Clara B. Griffin and Evelyn (Momma Tootsie) Johnson and her mother-in-law, Brenda Johnson, her uncles, William L. Griffin and Myles S. Griffin, her aunt, Joyce A. Sistrunk and brother-in-law, Nelson Johnson, Jr.

Surviving are her husband Michael L. Johnson of O'Fallon, Ill., whom she married February 20, 1995, daughter, Paris M. Johnson of Fort Collins, Colo., her mother, Anita J. Golden of O'Fallon, Ill., her aunts, Marilyn A. Moore of Richmond, Texas, Martha J. Kyle of Collierville, Tenn., Sandra Little-Tyler of Atlanta, Ga., her father-in-law, Nelson (Lois) Johnson of Moline, Ill., her uncle Ferdinand Griffin of Marion, Ala., her great aunt, Mildred Dawson of Selma, Ala., her great uncles, John Little of Los Angeles, Calif., Rodger Little of Dallas, Texas, Tommy Little of Chicago, Ill., her sisters-in-law, Nina J. Freeman of Collinsville, Ill., Nelneka (Jermaine) Fender of Peoria, Ill., Nelsondra Cole of Rock Island, Ill., brother-in-law, Greg Johnson of Tuscumbia, Ala. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation hours will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon IL 62269.

Homegoing service will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., Friday, August 1, 2025, at New Life in Christ Interdenominational Church, 689 Scott Troy Road, O'Fallon IL, 62269.  Bishop Geoffrey V. Burial with military honors will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd, St Louis, MO 63125.  Repast to follow at the church.
