James Allen Barton, age 73, of Shiloh, born September 19, 1948 in East St. Louis, Ill., passed away Sunday, June 12, 2022 at his home in Shiloh, Ill.

Jimmy was a proud Army veteran and had retired from Laborers' Local 670. He loved working there and being with his friends at work.

He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Ruby Barton, 19 siblings, stepson Donald "Boo" Barton, and step-grandson Lucas Klingelhoefer.

Surviving are his wife Sharon, nee Moore, Barton; daughter Jayme (Tim) Borkowski and children Bryce and Skyler of W. Va., stepchildren Terry Barton, Dana Ramsey, and Daryl (Amanda) Barton, all of Shiloh; brother-in-law Barry Moore of Caseyville, sister Helen Chambers; step-grandchildren Sarah, Tara, Tyler, Chase, Aubrey, Dawn, Nicole, Collin, and Savannah; and several great-grandchildren; and beloved pets Star and Mickey.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1 pm, Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon. A memorial service will follow at 2:30 pm, Saturday, at the funeral home, with Rev. Christy Eckert officiating.
