James C. Obernuefemann, age 68, of Bayles Lake, Loda, Ill., born February 23, 1948 in Belleville, Ill., passed away December 9, 2016, at his home.

Jim grew up in O'Fallon, graduated from Althoff High School and Belleville Area College. He served in the US Navy as a Radar Technician. During his career, he was an Electronic Technician. Before moving to Loda in 2005, he lived in the Chicago area and Stelle, Illinois.

Jim attended the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Loda, and was a member of the Farm Bureau. He enjoyed model trains, motor scooters and taking drives, enjoying the countryside.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence V. and R. Alveria, nee Fohne, Obernuefemann.

Surviving are his sister Dianne Obernuefemann of Loda, aunt Arlene Fohne, and many cousins.

Memorial donations are suggested to the charity of one's choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 10:00  - 11:00 am, Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home.

Funeral: 11:00 am, Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the funeral home, with Deacon Dennis Vander Ven officiating, with burial to follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh, Ill.
