James Martin Timper, age 82, of Mascoutah, formerly of O'Fallon, Illinois passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at Grange Nursing Home, Mascoutah. He was born August 3, 1923 in E. St. Louis to Ollie and Agatha Mary (nee Kiely) Timper. He was a WWII Marine Corps Veteran. He worked as an artist and writer for Southwestern Bell Publications until his retirement. He married Wanda Lewandowski January 18, 1947 in St. Louis, MO. She preceded him in death June 18, 1994. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Rich Bazan.
Mr. Timper is survived by his 6 children, James Martin Timper, Jr. of St. Louis, Margaret Bazan of California, Phillip (Nancy) Timper of Arizona, Mary Elizabeth (Mark) Smith of Breese, Ruth E. (James) Swain of Mascoutah, and Rita (Mark) Wunderlich of Belleville. He was "Grandpa the Great" to ten grandchildren and two great grandsons.
