Jan Ferris passed away peacefully on December 28, 2022 surrounded by members of her beloved family. Jan was born in Chicago on January 31, 1938 to Paul and Anna Grace Myers, the second of two children. After graduating high school in Elkhart, Indiana, Jan studied nursing and history at the Universities of Michigan and Iowa. It was at the latter where she met Jerry Ferris, whom she would marry in 1960. Jan spent her entire career as a legal assistant, honoring her father's profession, working well into her 70s.

Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, both her parents, and her brother Dan. She is survived by her three children, Debbi (Doug) DeMonge, Michael, and Cathy (Rick) York. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Christopher, Samantha, Melanie and Anna, her great grandchild Allyson, and her sister-in-law Pam Ferris. Jan is remembered fondly by all the lives she touched throughout her well-lived life.

A private ceremony to celebrate Jan's life is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in Jan's name to any local animal shelter.
