Janeita Keck, age 89, of O'Fallon, Ill., passed to life eternal on Saturday, July 17, 2021. She was born on November 24, 1931, to George and Christine, nee Rick, Schroeder. She grew up in rural St. Jacob until meeting the love of her life, Clifford "Bud" Keck of Lebanon, Ill., whom she married July 15, 1950. He passed away on March 13, 2012.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ivan Schroeder, and a brother in infancy. She will be joining dear sisters and brothers-in-law, a very dear niece and two nephews that filled her life with lots of love and happiness.

She is survived by their two children, Linda (Clyde) Bossler of O'Fallon and Lonnie Keck of Belleville. Also surviving are two grandsons, Andy Bossler of Decatur, Ill., and Eric (Dr. Abby Winter) Bossler of Seattle. Also, her great-grandchild, Ruth Cara Winter Bossler survives, born on Janeita's birthday in 2020, She will also be missed by her surviving nieces, nephews, and special lady-friend, June Yann.

Janeita lived her life as a dedicated farm wife and mother, balancing all the gardening, canning, working in the cattle lots, while bucket-feeding many a chicken, calf, and dogs. There were always big lunches to be made for haymakers or the packed lunches to take to the fields. She was famous for her German potato salad and fruit cocktail pie. She and Clifford lit up the dance floor with their smooth steps and sways to polkas and waltzes. Her laugh was infectious and could always be picked out in a crowd. She loved her family, her dogs, and the life she lived.

Her family is extremely thankful for the care and love from the Care Partners and nursing staff at the Colonnade/Heritage in O'Fallon, where she lived since 2014. Visitation will be 4 – 7 pm, Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 West Washington Street, O'Fallon, Ill.  The funeral service will be 10:30 am, Thursday, July 22, 2021, at the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. Martha Thierheimer officiating. Interment will be at College Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, Ill.
