Janet Lee Hanes, nee Shewmaker, age 54, lifelong O'Fallon resident, born November 9, 1967 in St. Louis, Mo., passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at her home in O'Fallon.

Janet had a heart for caring for others, especially the elderly, and had worked for many years in home healthcare. She loved her family and was proud of her daughter Audra. She enjoyed spoiling her many nieces and nephews at Christmastime.

She was preceded in death by her mother Karen, nee Feltman, Shewmaker.

Surviving are her daughter AudraLee M. Hanes; her parents Frank & Jackie Shewmaker; her siblings Tammy (Lorin) Schehl, Robin Powell, Frank D. (Bobbie Jo) Shewmaker, Suzie (Tim) Berkel, and Mike (Nikki) Lee; her former husband Donovan Hanes; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 10 am – Noon, Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon. A Memorial Service will begin at Noon, Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the funeral home with Pastor Danny Berkel officiating.
