Janice Mae Bickell, nee Countryman, age 83, of O'Fallon, Ill., born April 22, 1938 in Elmore, Iowa, died Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.

Janice enlisted in the Air Force in 1958, and served as a personnel specialist until her honorable discharge in 1961. While stationed at Scott AFB, she met Malcolm "Fred" Bickell, and they married January 7, 1960. They made O'Fallon home and raised three children together. Janice had worked for over 20 years as a clerk at Wood Bakery. She enjoyed listening to Elvis and working her puzzle books. She was well-liked by anyone who met her and will be deeply missed.

Mrs. Bickell was preceded in death by her husband Malcolm "Fred" Bickell on December 31, 2012; and her parents Arthur and Grace Countryman.

Surviving are her children Terry (Cheri) Bickell of Swansea, Pamela (James Hill) Bickell of South Daytona, Fla., and Lori (Eugene) Burgess of O'Fallon; granddaughter Jennifer Van Der Leest and great-granddaughter Aubree Hill.

Private services will be held with the family. Interment with military honors will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
