Janice Kay Wojtal, nee Manzo, age 81, of O'Fallon, Ill., born January 25, 1942 in Seattle, Wash., passed away suddenly on April 16, 2023 at her home.

Jan was an active member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, the O'Fallon YMCA, and the O'Fallon Woman's Club. Prior to moving back to O'Fallon in 2021, she lived in Athens, Ala. after retiring from civil service at age 72 from the US Army Missile and Aviation Command at Redstone Arsenal, where she was the IT Director/GS-15. In Athens, she was an active member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Athens-Limestone Hospital Wellness Center. Jan earned a Bachelor's degree from SIU-Edwardsville and a Master's degree from Webster University, both in Management Information Services (MIS).

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn and Ken Manzo; and her sister, Linda Manzo.

Jan loved her family fiercely and will be interceding for them in Heaven – she's already
negotiating on the number of daily intercessions she will be allowed to make.

She is survived by her husband, Don Wojtal; her sister, Carol Manzo; her son, Joe Wojtal, and his wife, Carolyn Wilke-Wojtal; her son, Mark Wojtal, and his wife, Julie Wojtal; her granddaughter, Alexandra Holder, and her husband, Zeb; her grandson, Nick Wojtal, and his wife, Alyssa Wojtal; her granddaughter, Sofia Wojtal; and great-grandsons, Ezekiel Holder and Eadon Lovato.

Visitation: 4-8 pm, Thursday, April 20, 2023 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 625 St. Nicholas Dr., O'Fallon, Ill. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to Mass on Friday.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, April 21, 2023 at the church with Msgr. William Hitpas presiding.
