Jean K. Cecil, age 89, of O'Fallon, Ill., died December 20, 2013, firmly enveloped in the love of her faith and the great care from heart specialists and nurses at St. Luke's Hospital, Chesterfield, Mo.

Jean, "The Doll Lady," died from heart surgery complications. She was devoted to the idea that any doll could be salvaged and loved. She was an avid doll collector and an equally avid restorer of historic and antique dolls.

Jean was born July 18, 1924 to Carl and Ethel, nee Stevenson, Kaufman, in Franklin, Penn. At the age of 21, she and her parents moved to northwest Arkansas, first settling at Denver, Ark. and later Harrison, Ark. After living 55 years in Arkansas, she moved to O'Fallon nearly 15 years ago to be near her son and his family. She worked as a medical office manager, both in the public and private sector. Jean was a parishioner at St. Nicholas Catholic Church and was an active member of Yesterday's Kids.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband Ken in 1993; her parents, two brothers, and one sister.

Surviving are her son Richard "Corky" (Dorcas) Cecil, of O'Fallon; granddaughter Sarah Cecil of O'Fallon, grandson Matthew Cecil of St. Louis, and brother Ted (Joyce) Kaufman of Dallas, Tex., and many nieces and nephews of whom she was very fond.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Visitation: Friends may call from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m., Sunday, December 22, 2013 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon, Ill., and again after 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 23, 2013.

The Senior Citizen's Club of O'Fallon will conduct a walk-through service at 5 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, Monday, December 23, 2013 at the church with Msgr. William Hitpas presiding.

Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Harrison, Ark.
