Obituary
Jean Ellen (LaMaster) Clausius, nee Roney, age 59, of O'Fallon, born February 17, 1953 in Louisville, Kentucky, to Gordon H. and Rose Ellen, nee Conway, Roney, passed away Saturday morning, March 17, 2012 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Jean worked in Accounting Management in civil service at Scott AFB from 1976- 1992. She was a gifted worker, earning a noteworthy award for creating a new software interface system for the accounting division of MAC. She volunteered her time as a computer teacher in O'Fallon public elementary schools before it was offered as regular instruction. She worked in the financial aid office at SWIC in the late 90's.
The seventh of twelve children, Jean was always surrounded by family and fun. She was active in the lives of her children and grandchildren, fondly known as "Gram" by many of their friends. Their well-being and happiness were of great importance to Jean.
She was preceded in death by her birth parents, her mom Sue "Mama Sue" Murphy, three brothers and one sister.
Surviving are her husband Jerry Clausius, of O'Fallon, whom she married August 1, 1987; her daughters Susan LaMaster of St. Louis, Mo., and Holly (Michael) Cullum of Memphis, Tenn., her five beloved grandsons, John and Daniel LaMaster of O'Fallon; and Patrick, Drew, and Nikolas Silva of Memphis, Tenn. and her five dogs.
Also surviving are her siblings, Mary Elizabeth (John) Munzer, Kathleen Franklin, Donald Roney, Richard (Carol) Roney, Robert (Peggy) Roney, Charles (Pamela) Roney, Frank (Scotty) Roney, and foster sister Lynda Busdosh; 7 nieces, 7 nephews and 16 great nieces and great nephews.
Because of Jean's love and concern for her grandsons, memorial donations, kindly requested in lieu of flowers, may be made to "Grams College Fund" c/o Scott Credit Union, 712 W. Highway 50, O'Fallon, Illinois 62269, or c/o Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon, Illinois 62269. Donations will also be accepted on Sunday at the church.
Visitation: Friends may call after 1:00 pm, Sunday, March 25, 2012, at O'Fallon United Church of Christ, 206 West Adams Street, O'Fallon, Ill.
Funeral: Memorial Service will be at 2:00 pm, Sunday, March 25, 2012, at O'Fallon United Church of Christ, with Rev. Dr. Martha Thierheimer officiating.
