Margaret Jean (nee Norden) Jenner died on June 9, 2013, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. The daughter of Henry and Olga (Hoelscher) Norden, she was born on May 22, 1924, in Blackburn, Mo. She married William A. Jenner on September 1, 1946 at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Blackburn.
Jean graduated from Blackburn High School and Central Business College in Sedalia, Mo. She received an Associate degree from Southwestern Illinois College, Belleville, Ill.
She was a stenographer at F.M. Stamper Company (Marshall, Missouri), Missouri Telephone Company (Columbia, Missouri), Chicago Bridge & Iron Company (Chicago, Illinois), and AACS (Andrews AFB, Maryland), and was an Instructional Clerk for School District 90 in O'Fallon.
Jean loved flowers and maintained a large flower garden for many years. She made many cross-stitched items for her home and for her children and grandchildren over the years. She loved poetry and one of her favorite quotes was by Edwin Markham – "There is a destiny that makes us brothers. None goes his way alone. All that we send in to the life of others comes back into our own." She loved music and was a member of the O'Fallon Methodist Church Chancel Choir for 26 years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, playing bridge, and was an avid Cardinal fan.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Friendship Circle, P.E.O. Chapter LJ, O'Fallon Woman's Club (honorary 50-year member), Friends of the Library, Ainad Belles, and O'Fallon Historical Society.
She is survived by two daughters, Dr. Carol (Tim Gregg) Jenner of Olympia, Washington, and Dr. Susan (Alan) Jenner Corzine of O'Fallon; one son Dr. Paul (Dr. Eva) Jenner of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren Jean (Joshua) Moon and Kristen (Matthew) Heidenthal of Washington; David, Melinda, Laura, and Elizabeth Jenner of Arizona; and Rebecca Corzine of O'Fallon; and two great-grandchildren Bridger and Sebastian Moon. Two sisters survive Mrs. Eileen Harrison and Mrs. Frances Herrmann, both of Marshall, Missouri, as well as seven nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William (Bill) Jenner, in 2002, and her parents, four brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law.
Memorials may be made to O'Fallon First United Methodist Church, the William and Jean Jenner Memorial Scholarship fund at O'Fallon Township High School, Chapter LJ (P.E.O.), or Central Methodist University (Fayette, Missouri); donations will be accepted at the funeral home.
Visitation: Friends may call from 3:00 – 7:00 pm, Sunday, June 16, 2013, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon.
Funeral: Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 am, Monday, June 17, 2013, at O'Fallon First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Dr. Joel Catlin officiating. Burial will be in O'Fallon City Cemetery, alongside her husband.
