Alanda Jean McAnally, nee Young, age 77, of O'Fallon, Ill., born August 15, 1946 in Durban, South Africa, died October 20, 2023.

For Jean, first and foremost, her family was her life. She enjoyed doing crosswords every day and loved her time with her Red Hat friends and those in the Ladies Group of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. She was very proud of her potted gardens that she created each spring.

She was preceded in death by her parents Maurice and Doreen Young and parents-in-law Earl and Patricia McAnally.

Surviving are her husband Mike McAnally; children Ian (Linda) McAnally, Sharon (Clint) Ressler, and Kelly (Rob) Kern; grandchildren Alexandria, Emily, and Eric Ressler, Chase, Blaine, Hailee, and Kallee Kern, and Owen, Grant, and Gavin McAnally. Also surviving are great-grandchildren Arianna, Juliet, and Ivy Moreno; siblings Colleen Hutchings, Dulcie (David) Kershaw, Cheryl McCarthy, Mark Young, and Steven Young; sisters-in-law Michele Bartels, Peggy McAnally, and Dawn Young; and many nieces and nephews.

The family especially thanks Dr. Lindsay Kuroki and RN Missy Kohnen of Washington University for their compassionate care during Jean's struggle with ovarian cancer. Thanks also to Dr. Scott Marrus at Prairie Cardiovascular for his continued care for her heart issues.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are suggested to American Cancer Society , American Heart Association , or Lupus Foundation of America .

Visitation: 4-8 pm, Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W Washington St., O'Fallon, and from 12:30 to 1:30 pm, Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 205 Rasp St., Shiloh.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 pm, Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with Rev. Paul Wienhoff presiding. Burial will follow at Mt Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh, Ill.
