Ruby Jean Meyer, "Jean" age 77, of O'Fallon, born June 11, 1946 in Sumter, S. Carolina, to Samuel and Ada, nee Capell, Grooms, passed away May 5, 2024 at HSHS St. Elizabeth's Hospital, O'Fallon, Ill.

Jean grew up in S. Carolina, and enjoyed being outdoors and going to garage sales. She was an amateur CB radio operator. Jean loved people and pets and was a proud ASPCA supporter.

She was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Meyer.

Surviving are her daughter Lorie Ann Roddenberry, son Jack Bartlett, Jr., son Michael A. Bartlett; brother Willie Grooms, half-brother Mendell Wilson; three grandchildren; and dear friends Mary Hoffarth and Linda Sturgeon.

Visitation: 11 am – 1 pm, Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon. A service will follow at 1 pm, with Pastor Douglas A. White officiating. Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at a later date.
