Obituary

Jean P. Schobert, age 82, of O'Fallon, Illinois, born June 18, 1931 in Belleville, Ill. died December 7, 2013 at her home.

Jean was the only child of Albert A. "Bat" Schobert and Mayme E., nee Bernhardt, Schobert.
She was a retired program analyst and prior secretary with the United States Air Force. Most of her career was spent at Scott Air Force Base, with the exception of three years at Randolph AFB, Texas, and three years at Wiesbaden Air Base, Germany. She received many citations and accolades for her distinguished service as a civil servant. She was instrumental in planning and coordinating the Air Force Ball of Mid-America and was often recognized for her outstanding work.

She was a charter member of the Belleville Chapter of Sweet Adelines, Inc., and co-founder of the Collinsville Chapter of Sweet Adelines, Inc., and a charter member of the Scott AFB chapter of Federally Employed Women, Inc. (FEW). She was an active member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), St. Nicholas Church Yesterday's Kids, St. Clair County Women's Republican Club, and the National Women's Republican Club. Jean enjoyed her friends, celebrated life, and was a beloved friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her cousin Donald L. Doyle.

Surviving are loving family members to include Marjorie, nee Mann, Doyle; Dennis and Marcia, nee Fields, Doyle; Daniel Doyle; Paul and Terese, nee Doyle, Schutzenhofer; Gregory and Dana, nee Upple, Doyle; Margaret Doyle; Jack and Mary, nee Doyle, Russo; Patrick Doyle; and their families and other cousins.

In accordance with Jean's wishes, she has generously donated her body to St. Louis University Medical School for research.

Memorial donations, in lieu of flowers, are suggested to St. Nicholas Catholic Church, St. Nicholas Building Fund, or in the form of masses.

Memorial visitation 12 - 1 p.m., Saturday, December 14, 2013 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon, Ill.

Memorial mass will begin at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the church with Msgr. William Hitpas, presiding.
