Jeanette M. Giebels, nee Miller, age 88, of O'Fallon, born February 9, 1935 in East. St. Louis, Ill., passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at her home.

Jeanette graduated from Notre Dame Academy, Belleville, Ill., in 1952. While working for a financial loan company in St. Louis, she met Nick, and they married May 18, 1963 at Immaculate Conception Church in East St. Louis. Raising two boys, she was a stay-at-home mom until 1978, at which time she began working as the secretary at St. Clare School, O'Fallon, until her retirement in 1998. She was an active volunteer at St. Clare parish, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, and participated in Altar Sodality, St. Clare Seniors, and was a vital coordinator for the funeral luncheon committee. She enjoyed gardening and was often seen tending to her yard. Jeanette was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.

She was preceded in death by her husband Nick in 2012; and her parents Adolph and Mary, nee Pardus, Miller.

Survivors include her sons Richard (Jennifer) Giebels of Houston, Tex., Timothy (Gretchen) Giebels of Severna Park, Md.; grandchildren Beau, Joshua, and Amanda Giebels; sister Regina (the late John) Droska of St. Louis; niece Julie Darmody; nephew Daniel Droska; and cousin Jay (Marie) Pardus.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 4 pm, Friday, May 19, 2023 at St. Clare Catholic Church, 1411 Cross St., Shiloh, Ill., with Rev. Jim Deiters presiding. Private graveside service will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Belleville.
