Jeannine Barbara Stake, nee Huebner, age 85, born December 22, 1935 in Hot Springs, S.D., to Harold Huebner and Anna E., nee Krieger, Huebner, died Thursday, December 24, 2020 at Cedarhurst Senior Living Facility, Shiloh, Ill.

Jeannine grew up in Culver City, Calif., was active in her church and school, and worked in her father's flower shop. As an adult, she raised her family in Costa Mesa, Calif., where she was a leader in youth programs and served on the wedding guild at Newport Harbor Lutheran Church for many years. Later she and her husband Roy moved to Henderson, Nev., where they were instrumental in helping to plant New Song Anthem church in Henderson. She loved to travel and experience the international perspective gained by visiting other countries.

She attended Culver City High School, and earned her Associates' Degree from Orange Coast College, in Costa Mesa.

She started her career as a "computer" (human computer) at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., worked for the City of Costa Mesa credit union and was later a successful realtor in Orange County, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Roy T. Stake whom she married November 26, 1958 in Santa Barbara, Calif.; her birth parents; and her step-parents Wilbert and Velda, nee Atkins, Volle.

Surviving are her three children Eric and his wife Mary, of O'Fallon, Ill.; Monica Hacker and her husband Patrick, of Fullerton, Calif.; and Kurt and his wife Elizabeth, of Newport Beach, Calif.; five grandchildren, Eric, Jr. and his wife Danielle, Victoria, Shannon, Kate, and Kendall; and two great-grandchildren, Trey and Caden.

Celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Funeral and burial will be conducted at Pacific View Memorial Park, Corona Del Mar, Calif.
