Obituary

Jerry Lewis Reed, Jr. age 52, of Shiloh, Ill., born April 27, 1971 in Louisiana, Mo. to Jerry and Janet (nee Wintjen) Reed, Sr., passed away on March 2, 2024, following a brief and sudden illness surrounded by his friends and family.

Jerry grew up in Louisiana, Mo. and graduated from Louisiana High School in 1989. He moved to University City, Mo., attended college and met his future wife, Michelle Noble, in 1992. After working in the transportation industry Jerry started his own business, Log Logistics Incorporated, which specializes in trans-loading timber for overseas export. His tremendous talents and creativity, along with love of building, led to the formation of Reed Renovations. He was well respected for his skill and work within the renovation industry.

Although his home was in the city, he was a country boy at heart and loved the outdoors, four-wheeling, and fishing at his family farm in Missouri. In addition, he was a reluctant self-professed Disney Dad and loved traveling with his family and friends to Treasure Island, Fla.., Big Cedar Lodge and "Cruising the Caribbean".

He had a passion for restoring vintage vehicles which began early on with his red 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1. This enthusiasm transcended to vintage Firebird Trans Am's which ultimately led him to co-found and become a board member of the Firebird Fest.

He had a passion for golf and loved coaching his son's baseball teams at Extreme Baseball Club and St. Clare School. He supported Catholic schools, including St. Clare, Cathedral and Father McGivney Catholic High School. Jerry had a generous spirit, selfless soul and cherished his family and close friends.

Jerry had a nickname for everyone including his furry best friend, Louie who he called "Biscuit." He could quote almost every movie and song lyric and made us laugh with his one-liners and jokes. Although his time was cut short, he lived a full life of endless fun and adventures with his family and friends. We find comfort in knowing his final moments were spent telling stories and laughing in true Jerry style. At this Lenten season we remember this was his favorite time for fellowship (and all the things that go with it) at "Fish Fridays." Jerry will be immensely missed by all who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife Michelle Renee (nee Noble) Reed, of Shiloh, Ill.; daughter Erica Brooke Reed, sons Brandon Lewis Reed and Brennen Anthony Reed; parents Jerry and Janet Reed Sr. of Louisiana, Mo.; in-laws Albert Anthony and Wanda Noble of Marion, Ill. and Audrey Kohlberg of Swansea, Ill., along with countless friends.
