SERVICES RESCHEDULED DUE TO WEATHER
Joan Laura Kampwerth, nee Shea, age 77, of O'Fallon, Ill., born September 8, 1933 in Collinsville, Ill., died Saturday, January 29, 2011 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville.
Joan was a beloved daughter, wife, sister, and aunt.
She worked for 30 years at Prairie Farms Dairy in O'Fallon. She was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church. She belonged to St. Clare's Altar Sodality and volunteered for many activities at the church and St Clare Catholic School.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcel George Kampwerth, who passed away May 20, 1990; her parents, William "Bill" Shea and Valerina, nee Mueller, Shea; her sisters Helen Graham and Jane Shea; her brother William "Bill" Shea, Jr., nieces Nancy, nee Graham, Gutzler and Mary, nee Vahlkamp, Fulton.
Surviving are her nieces Barbara (Jim) Whinnery and Amy Shea, nephew Allan Shea; great nephews Matthew Shea, Nicholas Shea, and Christopher Gutzler. She is also survived by her godchild Laura, nee Vahlkamp, Anderson; and three great-great nieces and nephews.
Joan enjoyed the company of and will be missed by her dear friends Walt and Shirley Rowskowski, Helen and Vernon Vahlkamp, Martha Tasker, Roseanne Thoman, Ralph and Cindy Chancy and many other friends and extended family.
Memorial donations in honor of Mrs. Kampwerth are suggested to St. Clare Catholic School Endowment Fund.
Visitation: Friends may call from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2011 at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, 1411 Cross Street, Shiloh.
Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the church with Rev. James Deiters presiding. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Shiloh.
