John Arthur Bagnarelli, age 85, of O'Fallon, Ill., formerly of Pennsylvania and Virginia, born February 11, 1936 in Philadelphia, passed away Tuesday evening, August 31, 2021 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, O'Fallon, Ill.

A US Army veteran, John was a steelworker and retired from US Steel after 30 years of employment in Pennsylvania. After he retired, he and his wife Mary travelled for a few years before relocating to Virginia Beach, where they lived until moving to O'Fallon in 2015. John enjoyed camping, fitness and exercising, dancing to his favorite polka music, and visiting with his friends and neighbors (who were like family to him) at Cambridge House in O'Fallon. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather and also loved being with his four-legged grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents Pete and Jennie, nee Fiore, Bagnarelli; and his brother Richard.

Survivors are his wife of almost 59 years, Mary Florence, nee Krumm, Bagnarelli; his daughters Denise (Charles, Jr.) Burton of O'Fallon, and Dolores (Pete) Samoni of Philadelphia; grandson Charles (Kristin Haehn-Burton) Burton, III and their children Brynn and Charlotte; and granddaughter Heather Burton; sisters-in-law Kathleen (Tony) Mushik and Mary Ann (the late Charles) Krumm; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
