Chief Master Sergeant John Bernard Hollerbach, USAF, Retired, age 87, of O'Fallon, born December 1, 1934, in St. Paul, Minn. to Aloysius J. Hollerbach, and Margaret L. Hollerbach (nee Spaulding), died Monday, January 3, 2022 at Memorial Hospital, Shiloh, Ill.

He graduated from Cretin High School in St. Paul. At the age of 18, enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served aboard the USS Toledo, among other posts. In 1957 he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for 25 years, retiring with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. John loved spending time with his family, gardening, tending his chickens, geese, horses, and following the St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Cardinals.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are his wife Hui Meow, nee Lin, whom he married May 16, 1970; his four children, John (Julie) of Overland Park, Kans., Marietta of Kansas City, Mo., Katrina (Shawn) of Fairview Heights, Ill., and Ben (Cory) of O'Fallon, Ill.; his eight grandchildren, Brittney, Carey, Jamie Sue, Kaden, Kamden, Kolton, Seth, and Olivia; and his two brothers, Tom (Peggy) of Haines City, Fla., and Daniel (Vincente) of St. Paul, Minn.

Graveside Service: A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 10:15 am, Thursday, January 20, 2022, for a Graveside Service to begin at 11 am, with military honors, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
