John Slazinik, Sr., age 84, of Belleville, formerly of Brentwood, Mo., born November 15, 1927 in St. Louis, Mo., died Sunday morning, December 25, 2011, at Dammert Geriatric Center, Our Lady of the Snows Shrine in Illinois.
John worked for many years as Plant Manager at Cupples Products in St. Louis, Mo.. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He held Golden Gloves Boxing titles in St. Louis, and went on to box professionally for a short time.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy R., nee Klauser, Slazinik in 1969; his parents Edward and Vivian, nee Hancock, Slazinik; his son, John Slazinik, Jr.; brothers Norm and Donald, and sister Gloria.
Surviving are his three sons Don (Debbie) Slazinik of O'Fallon, Ill.; Steve Slazinik of St. Charles, Mo.; and David (Kathy) Slazinik of Webster Groves, Mo.; as well as his daughter-in-law, Susan Slazinik of Brentwood, Mo.; brother Edward (Monica) Slazinik of Vero Beach, Fla.; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
