Johnny Matthew Kiegel, Jr., age 29, of O'Fallon, Ill. passed away Monday evening, October 5, 2009.
Born June 25, 1980 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Johnny was fortunate to have been able to travel the world with his parents, living in Japan, Germany, and the United Kingdom. He even swung a sledgehammer to help dismantle the Berlin Wall, all while proudly supporting his father's military service. Johnny graduated from Lakenheath RAF High School in England. His family relocated to O'Fallon 3 years ago. Johnny was a musician, songwriter and talented acoustic and electric guitar player.
He worked at Subway and Plaza Wine & Liquor in O'Fallon, and was a huge fan of soccer, especially Great Britain's Manchester United Football Club, and Charleston (S.C.) Battery. He supported the Miami Hurricanes and Miami Dolphins.
Johnny's presence will be immensely missed by his loving parents, SMSgt John M. Kiegel, Sr., and Janice A. Hembree-Kiegel, of O'Fallon.
He is also survived by his grandparents, Gloria and Frank Chapman of Big Spring, Tex.; and Janet F. Kiegel of St. Marys, Ga.; aunts and uncles, Pamela, Thomas, and Daniel Hembree and Melanie Karavatoes, all of Big Spring, Tex; and James Hembree of Las Vegas, Nev.; Joseph and Delores Kiegel of St. Marys, Ga.; Gary and Jackie Maher of Taberg, N.Y.; Joanne Kuriyan of Washington, D.C.; and James Kiegel of Sylva, N.C., and many cousins. He will also be missed by his special group of friends in "Chucktown," Charleston, South Carolina.

Visitation: Friends may call from 2:00-6:00 p.m., Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington Street, O'Fallon.
Funeral Service: Funeral Service will commence at 6:00 p.m., at the funeral home chapel.
