Jonathan James Gagen, age 31, of Collinsville, formerly of St. Libory, Ill., born November 9, 1992, passed away March 26, 2024.

Jon grew up in St. Libory, the youngest of nine children of James "Rocky" and (the late) Doris, nee Beuckman, Gagen. He graduated from Freeburg High School in 2011 and attended SWIC and SIUE. Jon was selfless, kind, caring, and empathetic, as was evident when he gave away his winter coat and his bus pass so he could help others. Jon shined brightest through his art; he loved oil painting, drawing, sculpting, woodburning, and writing poems and short stories. Jon's family finds comfort in believing his loving mother Doris welcomed him into Heaven with open arms.

Surviving are his father James "Rocky" Gagen of St. Libory, Ill.; siblings Kim (Lon), Jamie (Matt), Jeff (JoAnne), Scott (Andrea), Sara (Chris), Kerri (Eric), Mark (Sarah), and Thomas; and many nieces and nephews.
