Joseph Edward Keeney, age 61, of Shiloh, Ill., the fifth of eight children of Maynard and Mary Theresa, nee Elliott, Keeney, born October 17, 1960, passed away early Sunday morning, August 28, 2022, at Memorial Hospital, Shiloh, Ill.

Joe grew up in O'Fallon, Ill., and graduated from OTHS Class of 1979. He worked as a laborer for Empire Comfort Systems for 25 years. In spite of living with epilepsy, Joe never let it get him down. He was a hard worker and a true go-getter. He enjoyed watching classic western movies, especially Clint Eastwood and John Wayne. He listened to Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley, was a good pool player, enjoyed classic car shows and Cardinals baseball.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Annette.

Surviving are his wife Terri, nee Kohlmeier, Keeney of Shiloh; son Shane Keeney of Troy; daughter Ashly Gross of Shiloh; siblings Roberta Emerson, Michael Keeney, Maynard Keeney, Maria Koesterer, Christina Tang, and Shawn Keeney; many nieces and nephews; grandchildren Ella and Chance Minks, and Kiley Rubush.

Visitation will be held at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon, from 3 – 6 pm, Thursday, September 1, 2022, with a Memorial Service to begin at 5 pm.
