Joyce Elaine Howard, nee Hurley, age 87, formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio, currently of Swansea, Ill., born February 10, 1936 in London, Kentucky, passed away December 27, 2023.

Joyce grew up in Kentucky and married her former High School classmate Glenn Howard on December 31, 1966; he preceded her in death September 30, 2023. Known for her feisty personality, Joyce was a devoted homemaker, dedicated to managing a household and raising her son Bill. She was an avid history reader and will be fondly remembered for her delicious fried apples, served atop her homemade biscuits. The grandkids always enjoyed her homemade vegetable soup.

In addition to her husband, she is also preceded in death by siblings Sylvia Thomas, Janice Estep, Janrose Fuson, and Kenneth Hurley.

She is survived by her son Bill (Lori) Howard of Shiloh, Ill., grandchildren Glenn (Shannon) Howard, Wayne (Kaitlin) Howard, Amy Howard, and Emma Howard; great-grandchildren Jacob, Lauren, Carter, Molly, and Carson; and brother-in-law Johnny Estep of Cincinnati.
