Joyce Elizabeth Richter, age 78, formerly of Freeburg and Belleville, born February 17, 1935 in Obion County, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013.
Joyce was the former owner of the bakery Das Kuchen und Kaffee Haus in Mascoutah and had also served her baked goods in Freeburg and Belleville and had worked as an Aflac agent. Joyce's faith was very important to her, and she attended Green Mount Road Church of Christ. She had a generous spirit and a big heart and was always a hard worker.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul E. Richter; her son Thomas R. "Randy" Koesterer; her parents Claude and Lola, nee Davis, Brockwell; a son in infancy Todd Kane Richter; grandson Brock Borger; sisters Garnett Bentley and Mary Jane Brockwell; brothers Bill, Elvis, and Roy Thomas Brockwell.
Surviving are her daughter Diana (Tony) Sovia of Belleville, Ill.; granddaughter Leslie (Todd), nee Koesterer, Rivera of Freeburg, Ill.; grandsons Brent (Jody) Borger of Freeburg, Ill.; Nathan and Sean Koesterer, of Wash.; great-grandchildren: Hunter, Taylor, Haleigh, Owen, and Emily; sisters Sue (John) McKenna, of Harrison, Mich., Betty Rowlan of New Athens, Ill., and Jan Myers of Fulton, Ky., and brothers Ronald Brockwell of Fulton, Ky., and Charles Brockwell of Harrison, Mich.
Memorial donations are suggested to Green Mount Road Church of Christ and will be accepted at the funeral home.
