Mrs. Juanita R. Yeager, nee Blair, age 88, lifelong resident of O'Fallon, passed away Monday afternoon, August 15, 2005 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville, Illinois.
Mrs. Yeager was born April 11, 1917 in O'Fallon, Illinois and was a lifelong resident of the city. She married Henry "Hank" Yeager during World War II; he preceded her in death on August 15, 2001. Mrs. Yeager was a longtime member of VFW Auxiliary Post 8677 and Weight Watchers, and a past member of Senior Citizens Club of O'Fallon. She was an Election Judge and enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing pool, and ceramics. She was kind to her elderly neighbors by driving them to appointments and helping them to get around town.
She is survived by three sisters-in-law, Hope Yaeger of Springtown, Texas; Margaret Smith of Troy; and Ruth Carson of O'Fallon; 10 nieces and nephews, and her dog, Cyrus.
Memorials may be made to the American Foundation for the Blind or to St. Nicholas Catholic Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
Visitation: 4:00 – 8:00 pm, Friday, August 19, 2005 with a VFW Auxiliary Service at 7:00, and Saturday, August 20, after 10:00 am, at Wolfersberger Funeral Home.
Funeral Services: 11:00 am, Saturday, August 20, 2005 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, with Monsignor William Hitpas of St. Nicholas Catholic Church officiating.
Interment will be at Shiloh Valley Township Cemetery.
