IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judith
Dichsen
June 26, 1940 – February 12, 2023
"Put a little love in your life. Put a little love in your life. Hug your mother, kiss your father's wife. Put a little love in your life!" These are words of wisdom sung by Judy Dichsen. Her life was filled with love, from her birth on June 26, 1940, to her death on February 12, 2023, with her friends at Keystone Village.
Judy's life was bathed in the love of her parents, Willard and Viola Marrow; sisters (the late) Doris Stratbucker and (the late) Marilyn Marrow; and surviving brothers Donald Marrow and Ronald Marrow. Love began a new adventure in her life when she met the love of her life, Donald Dichsen, who preceded her in death in 2010. They married December 23, 1962. The song of their love took on many verses through their children, Christine Malare (Edward), Eric Dichsen (Melissa), Andy Dichsen (Stacie), and Adam Dichsen (Karen); her grandchildren: Zachary (Kali), Courtney, Jacob (Sydney), Audrey (Bryce), Morgan (Andrew), Connor, Taylor, Peyton (fiance Aaron), Austin, Marilyn, Benen, Rigby, Louis, and Desmond; and great-grandchildren: Ella, Cayden, Emersyn, Maverick, and Juniper. She loved each dearly, celebrating them with open and sincere enthusiasm.
A graduate of Stephens College, she taught 2 nd grade before willingly and lovingly devoting her life to her family from the birth of her first child until her last breath. Her love extended beyond family as she nurtured the souls of others with the gift of cooking and baking, her chocolate chip cookies bringing smiles to countless faces. She was active in her church, Faith Lutheran, and served on countless committees in significant ways, especially through helping select hymns for worship. Love was perfected in her life through faith. She was grounded in Christ with family and friends of all traditions.
Judy greeted each day with a song in her heart, a love for others, and faith in God. Many were awakened by her voice singing, "Good morning, Lord, it's a beautiful day. Good morning, Lord, I'm heading your way. Open my eyes so I can see, someone who needs a friend like me. I know that I can always be, loving, caring, always sharing." While this and countless other songs were passed on to her children, their echoes will continue through family and friends for generations to come and will remain in our hearts as we look forward to singing "We're all together again" in the eternal presence of God.
