Julia Mae Schulte, nee Roberts, age 95, of O'Fallon, born September 25, 1913 in O'Fallon, passed away Friday morning, February 20, 2009 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, following a brief illness.
She married Eugene F. Schulte on February 17, 1931 in Trenton, Illinois. They moved to Bourbon, Missouri in the early 1960's, when the Proctor Products shoe manufacturer in St. Louis selected Mr. Schulte to open a new location in rural Missouri. Insisting that he needed the help of his wife, she was hired and together they ventured off to start a new business. She was very successful at managing the office and assisting with the daily operations. Upon their retirement, they moved back to O'Fallon. She was a faithful member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and a member of O'Fallon's Senior Citizens. She loved to play bingo and cards and she treasured the friendships she made while living at O'Fallon Apartments and Cambridge House. She truly enjoyed being with her family.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents David H. and Rose, nee Michau, Roberts; her son and daughter-in-law Warren and Dora Lee, nee Busch, Schulte; two brothers Raymond and Clyde "Bip" Roberts.
She is survived by her grandchildren and their families, Jeffrey (Sherry) Schulte and son Tyler of Baltimore, Md; Julie Ann (Gary) Bevirt and their daughters McKenzie and Maggie of Flagstaff, Ariz; MaryBeth (Michael) Walker of Phoenix, Ariz., and their children PFC Ryan Walker of Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar, San Diego, Calif; Nicole and Jennifer, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and great-great-grandson Jackson Lander. Also surviving are her brother David (Marie) Roberts of Belleville; and sister Ann Simon of O'Fallon.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, 102 W. Washington St., O'Fallon. A Prayer Service will be at 4:00 p.m. The O'Fallon Senior Citizens will conduct a walk-through at 6:30 p.m. Visitation also one hour prior to service at church..
Funeral: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 23, 2009 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon, with Msgr. William Hitpas presiding. Burial will follow at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois. Following the burial, a luncheon will be served at the church.
